If you are new to Suwon and looking for voulunteering, please email me!

As you can see, I have uploaded the post volunteering reports after weekly activities. However, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. About 10 volunteers have become really close friends, work at the same place, share different hobbies, fun and dedicate themselves to the cause and this is not seen online.

Don't just leave should you look for some volunteering action in the city of Suwon. Get involved. Reach out.

Thank you.

Help Your Suwon Week 67 - Week 71

Forgive me, everyone. There is no excuse as to why I have been posting any thread here. But, do note that I have been keeping track of everyone's participation and financial flow. Ergo, no worries.

The past few weeks, we have our Canadian crew aka Amanda, Melea and Sarah back on the group. No matter how far they live now from good ole's suwon, they still come when they can and contribute to the cause. I can not thank you enough.

For some reason, there has been an interesting pattern to the group, so hear me out.
When the Canadians come, no bundangers or "Americans" show up. And when every American shows up, no Canadians show up. So, when the group (either Canada or America) makes an appearance at the shelter, the guys are confused. One week they see no one but Americans, next week, they only see Canadians.

So, this past Sunday (yesterday), I showed up solo and they all were puzzled, saying "Where is everyone?" I am not writing this to remonstrate your absence or appearance. It is just that they notice us and remember things about us. So, it is a good thing.

Anyway, everyone, please, let us hail Melea, Amanda and Sarah!!

Also, this Sunday morning in Bundang, Mr. Captain America aka Derrick Milligan and Oh are going to run a 5k and a 10k respectively. So, come out and show some support if you will. Otherwise, I see you guys this Sunday.

I am infinitely sorry that I have been lazy in updating what's new. The past three weeks was somewhat eventful. I was down in Thailand on a business trip whilst Rachael visited home and had a great time with her family and loved ones. With brave Derrick playing solo three weeks ago, we have our comeback kids back in the group aka the Canadian duo. We infinitely thank thee for coming all the way down to Suwon.

I was contacted by the reporter from Korea Herald as to what has been going with HYS. So, keep in mind that there will be another piece in the papers any time soon.

Spring is around the corner, finally.

Rachael and I met up at Suwon station, then, as usual, proceeded to the shelter. We found two cartons of eggs that said "Donated by a foreigner early in the morning" The officials at the shelter asked me what they were supposed to do with the eggs to which I said I don't know because we did not donate them. So, yes, there is other foreigner(s) linked to the shelter and helped them under no name or whatsoever. How nice!

This was topped off some dance by homeless. This guy whom we have never met busted out his Michael Jackson's Beat It moves coupled with saying "Madonna" and "PSY" Every time we are seen engage in a dialogue with one of them, we are interestingly looked at by bystanders at the station. Whether a stare or a glare, we don't really bother and continue to do what we do. It is a little bit of a stretch for me to say this. When "I" arrive at the waiting area at the station, I feel like all eyes are gazed upon me and my co-volunteers as if we are a singer at a concert. Then, we barge in and stir the crowd by making a scene :) And, the best part is that I never get jaded with it.
