If you are new to Suwon and looking for voulunteering, please email me!

As you can see, I have uploaded the post volunteering reports after weekly activities. However, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. About 10 volunteers have become really close friends, work at the same place, share different hobbies, fun and dedicate themselves to the cause and this is not seen online.

Don't just leave should you look for some volunteering action in the city of Suwon. Get involved. Reach out.

Thank you.

Help Your Suwon Week 99

Current Balance : 237,964 won
Previous Balance : 213,614 won
Newly Deposited : 24,350 won

Last week, we welcomed a newly formed family, Michael, Nerry, T.J. and MeeHee. Michael who used to participate in took his family out to the volunteering and showed the kids what it is like to help those inneed and how delicious 부대찌게 is. Although we bought twice as much we usually do, we could not distribute the entire food. The colder it is, the fewer people we see at the station.
It was so nice to see the whole gang after a long period of time. Next week finall marks our centeniel occasion. What to do? What to do?

Any ideas?

In the first place, I would like you to click on the scanned bankbook file and see the balance. Whopping 90,000 won has been funnled into our account this morning and this was because of a) Sarah's parents' magnanimous donation to the group and b) last night's attendance; 9 people, which is the highest since forever.

Sarah's parents were in town and were kind enough to, with her boy friend, June, help the homeless with the rest of the participants last night. In addition, they have brought goodies from the hotel they are staying in. The items were personal hygine kits such as disposable tooth brushes, razors, slippers and so forth. We left them in the good hands of the workers at the shelter.

Becasue we had more people than usual, we purchased 40 items for each and gave them away. Afterwords, we headed to a gal-bi restaurant and enjoyed galbi. There, the parents treated us and we were very very thankful for it. The evening continues with some of us endedup taking sticker pictures together and having bing-soo at a local cafe bene.

What the parents saw last night may not be the best part of Korea, but it is still part of it. A dune of garbage in the back street, homeless drinking soju at a local train station, a little baby hovering around those drunken homeless and so forth. But, they came here to make a difference and, I presume, must be very proud of her daughter who has been trying with the rest of Help Your Suwon.

As the Fall wanes and the breeze blows, it was a bit chilly, but our hearts weren't because of the people next to each other.

Thank you everyone, especially, Sarah, her parents and June-
