If you are new to Suwon and looking for voulunteering, please email me!

As you can see, I have uploaded the post volunteering reports after weekly activities. However, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. About 10 volunteers have become really close friends, work at the same place, share different hobbies, fun and dedicate themselves to the cause and this is not seen online.

Don't just leave should you look for some volunteering action in the city of Suwon. Get involved. Reach out.

Thank you.

Help Your Suwon Week 28 and Help Your Buddha

Current Balance : 182,570 won

Previous Balance : 241,100 won ( 241,020 + 80 won (I miscalculated so added the margin)
Newly Deposited : -58,530 won (60,000 won - 6,650 won - 52,000 won[Help Your Buddha dinner])

Before I begin, I would like to tell you that last week I miscalculated the change and thus added the missing 80 won to the account. Also, since we spent more money than we gathered (60,000 won) this weekend, I paid for it and that is why I transferred 6,530 won to mine. And, for Help Your Buddha day, the members in the presence concurred to using the fund since it is for our own cause, boosting camaraderie. The total was 52,000 won and I paid for it on behalf of everyone and this is why I also subtracted the money from the fund. I hope everyone understands the situation. If you think you have qualms, please feel free to tell me and the others.

This past Sunday, we managed to buy 32 of each and the majority of them was given away. We were joined by another new comer hailing from Daejeon. I am very much pleased to see new blood joining the cause.

Speaking of yesterday, I can't thank you enough for showing up and supporting the gathering although the weather could not be worse. Raining and hailing was a real party pooper. And yet, Maeve, Derrick and ChristI decided to stay, go to the secretly nestled temple and Stephanie and Rachael came with a set of delightful games that we play over 팥빙수. And, I am not leaving you out, Grace who, albeit exhausted from singing a birthday song to her 70 year young grandmother for her birthday, still participated.

Next time, in Suji or Bundang, the same or more varigated repertoire (maybe a movie as well)

Help Your Suwon Week 27

Current Balance : 241,020 won
Previous Balance : 289,220 won
Newly Deposited : 6,880 won(100,000 won - 76,620 - 16,500)
Newly Withdrawn :  - 55,000 won (23,000 won [cake - Oh paid for it] + 32,000 won[2 glowing Frisbee)

I would say that Week 27 was one of the very special occasions of all three-fold. For one thing, it was our very time to go out on a limb and be our own. One of the NGO officials suggested we do it without them tagging along. I did not try to argue with them. Upon everyone's consensus, we did and the performance was quite successful. Grant it, it is still hard for us to distinguish who is and who is not and to establish a more personal relationship with them. But, what matters is we tried and it is going to get better. I laud those who would not fidget, who was audacious enough to accost them, to try to talk to them and build a connection with them. For that, I say thank you.

Secondly, we had a newcomer, Amanda from CA. She was a friend of Maeve's. Thank you for your participation and hopefully we come back next week.

Lastly, to commemorate the first Hall of Famer aka Derrick, we dined out over  exquisitely decorated ice-cream cake and two different sorts of pizza. They were tasty and the conversation was even more palatable.

Believe it or not, the last week also marked our 6th month anniversary(?). I did not tell you coz we already have others entities to celebrate over. As part of this, I am thinking of going on a picnic this 3 day weekend when we can chillax and toss some discs under the dazzling sunshine. I hope everyone make it.

Thank you everyone for your support and endeavor.

Help Your Suwon Week 26

Current Deposit : 289,220 won
Newly Deposited : 9,870 won
Previous Balance : 279,350 won

Despite the short notice, 7 people made an appearance this weekend. Thank you everyone. Also, we had a newcomer, Sarah. She is a friend of Stephanie's. She was nice enough to drive us to the park where we tossed discs. It was a lot of fun. Personally, last week was a very rough one for me and it was nice to get out and get some fresh air. See you all next week.

Help Your Suwon Week 25

Current Balance : 279,350 won
Previous Balance : 266,660 won
Newly Deposited : 12,690won(100,000 - 87,310)

It has been awhile since the last time when there were more than 8 people. In spite of the beautiful weather, many showed up. We managed to buy more than 60 bag and failing to locate the regulars. It, I assumed, must have been the weather. As an alternative, we headed back to the office and ,for the first time, distributed the food to the residents.

Afterwards, everyone expressed how artistic I am based upon the previous record of my DRAW-SOMETHING masterpieces. Thank you, everyone. ㅋㅋ At any rate, I bid you a good week. I hope the weather continues to be like this.

Help Your Week 24

Current Balance : 266,660 won
Newly Deposited : 37,500 won
Previous Balance : 226,160 won

Hello, everyone. This is a weekly report of Help Your Suwon. Last week marks its 24th gathering. Despite everyone's busy schedule and your own personal engagements, 5 people showed up. After the volunteering, we managed to find a local restaurant with a nice patio and decent food. I was very much glad find it. The weather has been quite humid and hot, so enjoy it while you can (personally, summer is my favorite). Have a great weekend and I hope to see you all this Sunday.
