If you are new to Suwon and looking for voulunteering, please email me!

As you can see, I have uploaded the post volunteering reports after weekly activities. However, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. About 10 volunteers have become really close friends, work at the same place, share different hobbies, fun and dedicate themselves to the cause and this is not seen online.

Don't just leave should you look for some volunteering action in the city of Suwon. Get involved. Reach out.

Thank you.

Hooooooooot! I could not put more emphasis. There were five people at the shelter today and one of them was a newcomer; Christopher. After the activity, we headed to Ajou University and had spicy Kimchi Jjigae follwed by two mega 팥빙수(move on if you don't know what this is, better yet you'd better know!) We celebrated Sean and my birthday. For that, I think thee.

This week, I am going to finally get the word out and to have more people to the group. Wish us luck.

Boy, it was hot and humid. We perspired like pigs, literally, but it was worth it. The man in charge of the center said that he would like get the word out by contacting major news reporters. I am not sure how he is going to do it, but we shall see. Anyhow, Sean, a new member to our group, made an apperance and it was good to see him and to have a towering read bean ice cream coupled with Subway sandwiches. Sounds tempting? Come and check us out this weekend.

Hello, everyone. As always, this is a very overdue update one what has been going on with Help Your Suwon. Lately, due to the monsoon season, the weather has been quite friendly. And yet, the members (and some visitors) have paid visits to the group and helped. Thank you very much for your all endeavor.

The vacation time has finally come and I truly hope that you all get some quality time with your friends, family or even loved ones. I am thinking about giving everyone a break at the end of this month or the first week of August. Also, I am considering taking a camaraderi tour next month to the city called Yangpyoung where you can experience railbike, light hiking and traditional marketing and so forth. At any rate, I will keep you updated on this later.

With the weather all humit and all mercurial, I hope you all stay healthy (remember I was sick two weeks prior) and keep it real.

Thanks.

Shame one me. Grant it, I have been nothing but lazy. I was also busy at work like insane. But all the excuses aside, let me start off with good news first. Two weeks ago, Amanda brought a friend of hers, Jihoon. He came yesterday, which makes 2 week straight! Also, at Suwon station, a local woman exhibited an interest in our activity. She said that she used to be part of Help Your Suwon, the motif of Help Your Suwon. I am not sure if she will every show up, but the more the merrier right?

As you can see, our communcal fund is running low. We have about 70,000 won. As long as there are more than 5 peopl every week, we can steer clear of depletion. But, what are we going to do? Do you recruit more or do we just sit and wait? How about, like Amanda did, bringing some friends of yours, if you will? Recently, we have enjoyed new comers e.g. Sean from South Africa and Jihoon from Seoul. At times like thise, I reminisce when there used to be more than 10 of us. Those are the times... Where did everybody go?

I am infinitely in debt for keeping this blog updated as much as possible. I was sick, have been busy and just lazy (insanely busy at work)

At any rate,

First thing's first; Christi, a fervert Starbuck lover left the country and headed back to her home. It was such a pleasure for us to have you. I wish nothing but happiness in your life.

As a substitute, we have Sean hailing from South Africa. He works with Derrick in Suji. I think the current member has met him at least once.

And, the guys at the station, as always, greet us upon seeing us. Nothing has changed really. Someone now has a job, making money. It is not a bad feeling to see the familar faces upon walking up the stairs to the station. However, sometimes, I hope not to see them one day, knowing that they are better off somewhere. Surely, I feel relieved that the regulars welcome us with their arms open, lead us to the rest, tell us where to go, to whom we should give the food. And yet, they are still there still whether it is a choice or not.

In the not too distant future, we need to advertise ourselves to draw more volunteers to work with. What would we do? Craigslist? Dave's Esl? Viral? Youtube?

I am open to suggestions.

Help Your Suwon Week 67 - Week 71

Forgive me, everyone. There is no excuse as to why I have been posting any thread here. But, do note that I have been keeping track of everyone's participation and financial flow. Ergo, no worries.

The past few weeks, we have our Canadian crew aka Amanda, Melea and Sarah back on the group. No matter how far they live now from good ole's suwon, they still come when they can and contribute to the cause. I can not thank you enough.

For some reason, there has been an interesting pattern to the group, so hear me out.
When the Canadians come, no bundangers or "Americans" show up. And when every American shows up, no Canadians show up. So, when the group (either Canada or America) makes an appearance at the shelter, the guys are confused. One week they see no one but Americans, next week, they only see Canadians.

So, this past Sunday (yesterday), I showed up solo and they all were puzzled, saying "Where is everyone?" I am not writing this to remonstrate your absence or appearance. It is just that they notice us and remember things about us. So, it is a good thing.

Anyway, everyone, please, let us hail Melea, Amanda and Sarah!!

Also, this Sunday morning in Bundang, Mr. Captain America aka Derrick Milligan and Oh are going to run a 5k and a 10k respectively. So, come out and show some support if you will. Otherwise, I see you guys this Sunday.
